My 70's Era - StyleArc Sandra Narrow Leg Jeans

Image
Someone at church said it looked like I stepped out of the 70's - I'll take it and own it 😅.  I love these jeans - it is one of my favorite patterns to make, but what I love even more is this fabric.   Sandra Narrow Leg Jeans When I spotted this fabric at JoAnn's several years ago in the kids section, it called out to me and said take me home.  How could I deny the kids section 😅.   So far I have made a jacket, a skirt, and now a pair of jeans out of it and I still have more which will probably end up being a dress. This post will contain mostly pictures because I have several blog post on this pattern (and the others styled with it).  The only changes I made was to remove the 1" shorten in the front and eliminated the hem in favor of a decorative thread. My topstitching is a mess and the decorative thread on the hem should have matched the color on the jacket hem,  but I reversed the threads on my serger and didn't have enough thread to correc...

My Girly Girly Outfit - StyleArc's Monroe Woven Top and Genoa Bias Cut Skirt

Image
I had a high school reunion to go to and knew I wanted to make something but waited until the 99th hour before I chose a pattern. Leave it to me to take something so simple and make it extra hard and long.  I also forgot I had signed up for a pattern test that was due at the same time (I was so stressed).   Because I was in a rush it took forever to make and I was still sewing a few hours before it was time for me to leave. It has been an extremely long time since I cut out a bias anything, so I also had to contend with that.   StyleArc's Monroe Woven Top & Genoa Bias Cut Skirt I have to say both of these pieces had me feeling like a girly girly - I felt so feminine in these pieces.  Both of these pattern are so simple, yet so elegant.  You can dress them up or down with your fabric choice. This post won't be like normal because I am doing 2 patterns in one post (I'm lazy and way behind on my posting). The Fabric I was a week away from my reunion and...

Sigrid Knit Coat by StyleArc

Another UFO completed 😄.  I started this one July 2024 and was forced to complete February 2025.  My niece is a huge Chiefs fan and she wanted something with the Chiefs logo embroidered on it.  She gave me an idea of what she wanted, I chose some patterns for her to review, and this is the one she chose. How I Did It This pattern was quite easy but I just lost my sewjo after starting it.   After she selected the pattern, I search some online fabric shops for fabric.  I ended up ordering from  Marcy Tilton  because she had a sale going on at the time. The coat was straight forward, but the embroidery was a different story.  Because I was working with a knit fabric, I initially decided I would make a patch and sew the patch on it rather than embroidering directly on the fabric.  Ultimately I chose to "chance" it.  I knew that if  I failed, I would owe her for the pattern, the cost to print it, and the fabric. The embroidery took...

Logan Shacket Version 4 By StyleArc

I made this last year and am finally getting around to posting it.  This has become one of my favorite patterns - it is the 4th one I have made so far and yes I see more in my future. I made a size 22 without any adjustments out of this really nice heavy corduroy donated to me.  I wanted it roomy and ultra comfortable.  I love that I can wear a sweater under it without it restricting my movement. I won't do my normal post because I have made it so many times, but I will provide links for the others. Version 1 Version 2 Version 3 Some Photo's
