Mood Sewciety The Hickory Ensemble Pattern (Top)

Image
I first saw this pattern on Instagram for the "Sew Your Own View" challenge and had planned to participate in the challenge but never got around to it.  Finally in February of this year I made time to sew it. The Hickory Ensemble How I Did It This is a free pattern from Mood Sewciety and you can get it here .  I was drawn to this pattern for the comfort/easy factor and it did not disappoint. The top is styled with StyleArc's Brooklyn Knit Pant and it has been previously reviewed here .  I will show construction pictures for the pant also. Fabric I saw this fabric in the children's section at my local JoAnn's and I believe it was on sale.  The pops of color is what made me "had to have it".  It is an embroidered french terry and it has been in my stash for some time now (years).  I did have to purchase rib knitting and was disappointed when I could not find the color I wanted at JoAnn's.  I had a choice of either tan or black and I went with black. Embroidered Jackets for the Super Bowl

I'm trying to get my sewjo back but it is being stubborn, so I figured I would catch up on blog posts. I care nothing about football, however, a family member does.  As family do when they know you can sew they come to you at the last minute wanting something done. Can You Guess Who They Were Rooting For This family member was going to Super Bowl 2021 and bought some jean jackets and wanted to know if I could embroidery them - I said yes.  What I didn't realize was the super bowl was about a week away (did I say I care nothing about football 😀). What I am most proud of is how the arrowhead patch came out.  There was no time to order one so, I used what I had on hand and digitized the arrowhead using Janome's Artistic Digitizer embroidery software.  The software did all the work - I am not a digitizer.  All embroidery was done on my Janome Memory Craft 550E. Here are the pictures of the 4 jackets.
