Richie Knit Tunic Dress

Image
I really love this simple dress and it fits in with my sewing comfy mood right now. I think I will look like a sack of potatoes in this dress and had considered making a belt for it and later decided against it.  I have decided I am going to rock this dress when I wear it, even if I look like a sack of potatoes 😉. I am well aware this dress looks horrible on the dress form, but I have been living in pj's for the last 6 weeks and have no desire to play dress up and try to take pictures right now. Style Arc's Richie Knit Tunic Dress How I Did It I really wanted to do horizontal strips to practice strip matching, but I chickened out again. I have yet to conquer strip matching. This fabric was in my stash, but it was purchased from Fabric Mart fabrics last year so it is relatively new.  It is a lycra double brushed jersey.  It is so soft and feels wonderful against the skin. This Fitzroy Hoodie Is Absolute Comfort

As of late, I am only wanting to sew things that are roomy, comfortable, and easy to sew, so now when I buy new patterns that is what I am searching for.  These days I need quick sewing success to keep me motivated to sew. I bought this pattern in May 2019.  I knew I loved it but the right fabric didn't speak to me until March 2020. Fitzroy Hoodie  How I Did It In the middle of March 2020 based on what I was hearing and seeing I knew the city was going to be shut down sometime soon.  I went to JoAnn's Fabric store as a last ditch effort to ensure I had fabric to sew,  I wasn't hopeful because for the last few years their garment fabric quality had gone down hill and I felt forced to do my fabric shopping online. I was pleasantly surprised to find this bright yellow modal knit fabric - it reminded me of the high end knit fabric I have seen in retail high end brands. The yellow reminded me of the sunshine and that made me happy.  I knew this was the perfect fab

Leggings #2

I won't spend a whole bunch of time regurgitating what I have already said here in this review - it's the same pattern that I absolutely love - StyleArc's Laura Knit Leggings .  More will be made. Same modifications - below are construction pictures.  I did buy new fabric for these leggings - a brushed knit that feels wonderful against my skin.

Elliot Sweater

This is the first time trying one of Helen's Closet patterns.  I really loved view A (high-low version), but was concerned about the collar because I know I don't really like high collars.  I decided I wanted to try it anyway. As I suspected, I hated the first version with the high collar and gifted it to a friend.  Before I sewed the first version I ordered new fabric to make another.  With the new fabric I made view C (t-shirt version).  I was too scared to take the risk with view A again. Version 1 Version 2 How I Did It For version 1 I used a thick sweater knit that was in my stash purchased from my local fabric store some time ago.  For version 2, I ordered a colorful animal print sweater knit that I absolutely love.  I purchased this fabric from Stylemaker Fabrics . I shortened the length of the front, back and sleeves 3 inches.  I took out 10 inches from the high collar on version 1. I had to take the collar off twice and re-sew it trying to cu
