Leggings

Image
I really love leggings but I have to ensure I wear a top that cover my hips.  I have a pattern for a longer top but just haven't had made time to make it.  I made these leggings back in December I believe and decided I would wear them anyway since it will be a while before I get around to making the top. Style Arc's Laura Knit Leggings How I Did It I used fabric from my stash that I bought from my local fabric store.  I think the fabric was called "jeggings".   This pattern was so quick and easy to put together I didn't even stop to take my normal construction steps pictures. I really love Style Arc pants and this pattern is no exception- minimal adjustments for a good fit.  The pattern is Style Arc's Laura Knit Legging . If I remember correctly, I raised the back about 1" and lowered the front by about the same amount.  I also shortened the length 3" and did a wedgie in the back about 6" long and 2" wide and tapered down

Stacie Jean Jacket - Version 2

Image
On my first sew of this jacket I was disappointed because I made so many sewing mistakes and I couldn't look beyond them.  I loved the jacket and but when I looked at it I would only think about the sewing mistakes I made. I finally decided to give it away to someone who would enjoy it and make myself another.  I did not make the same sewing mistakes instead I made new ones 😞 - go figure.  This is my latest make. How I Did It I want do my normal narrative since I have already reviewed this once here .  The only thing difference was I used Peruvian  Blooms embroidery designs from Anita Gooddesign. Conclusion Even though I made mistakes, I still have a wearable jacket.  The next time I make it (no time soon) I want to purchase quality denim.  What's Next I got selected to do a pattern review - yay so I have to work on that this weekend and get it posted.

Baby Gift Complete

There was so much sewing I was supposed to do over Christmas break and got none of it done.  This baby blanket and bibs was on the list.  I posted the bibs last week . Posted Last Week This week I finally completed the blanket and gave it to the recipient. How I Did It Nothing new here and all my fabric came from my stash.  I believe I started with 9 - 8" squares.  I embroidered the the baby's name from one of the fonts in my embroidery software and used Bunnycup's Adorable Animal Faces Applique for the animal faces. I used good quality quilting cotton and instead of using my quilting scraps I used cuddle fleece for the animal faces to give the blanket some depth and interest for the baby.  I put a topper over the fleece to keep the stitches from disappearing into the fleece while embroidering. Below are pictures from the process. Once all the embroidery is done I normally stitch the 9 squares together.  After stitching them together
