Final Goodbye

Image
A sister in Christ mom died and had seen some memory hangings I had done previously and asked how much it would cost to have one done for her mom.  I told her I would do it no charge.  I made that commitment over a year ago and have finally completed it. Memory Hanging How I Did It This one was more difficult because I have never met her mom and did not know her personally.  When I make memory my goal is to capture the essence of who the person was if I can.  I was not able to accomplish that with this one. In the past I purchased the photo print fabric at the local fabric store but I hated the quality of the fabric.  So now I purchas quality quilting cotton from one of my quilting stores, cut it into "letter" size pieces, and treat it with Bubble Jet Set 2000  before printing the pictures. I try to print the pictures the same size but I did not do that with the first two so that started the downhill fix it trend. Pictures Immediately After Printing Pictu

Happy Birthday Trinity

I managed to get behind on my postings again - oh well.  Ms. Trinity is a little lady that sit with me during church service and she had a birthday in December.  Her gift wasn't on time but I did get her one.   I have made both of these before.  The bag is a project from the book " Sew Special Fat Quarter Gifts " by Julie Johnson.  The sleepy time pillow is a project from the Sew4Home site. How I Did It The Sew4Home site have instructions for the pillow so I will refer you there. I used fabric from my stash for the bag- yay.  I was initially going for a true diamond pattern but I got tired and increased the cross pattern from 1" to 2".  There is batting in between the quilted pieces. Inside of Bag Outside of Bag After quilting the pieces I embroidered her name on the pocket and stitched the pocket to the front side. I stitched the front to the back and "boxed" the bottom. Next I added the binding to finish the top
