Love Notions Vivace Dolman

Image
I couldn't  continue to sew the LDT forever πŸ˜‚ - I had to move on to another pattern.  Whenever I try a free pattern from a company and I like it, I like to purchase at least one pattern to support the pattern designer.  It didn't hurt that on Friday's Love Notions offer a $5 pattern - that is when I bought this one. How I Did It I am continuing to use fabric in my out of control fabric stash 😁.  One great thing about this pattern is you can use a knit or woven.  It has different pattern pieces for the knit and the woven Fabric Top A rayon batik that I bought from Stylemaker Fabrics August 2020.  They don't have this particular fabric but the do have plenty of rayon batiks  here . Dress A knit from my local Joann's that has been in my stash for maybe 5 years or more.  Pattern Adjustments Top (woven pattern) I blended between a 2X and 3X So why did I do a FBA for the top?  I never need this adjustment.  Based on the pattern instructions, I needed to do it.  Against

Love Notions LDT #3 and #4

Not my normal post because I have posted on Version 1  and Version 2 .  This is version 3 and 4 of the Love Notions LDT (Laundry Day Tee) and now it is put up so I can move on to other patterns πŸ˜†. Version 3 Version 4 All fabric came from my stash.  I bought them from JoAnn's about 5+ years ago.  I am trying to fight the urge to buy more fabric and use what I have.  Version 3 is a waffle medium weight knit and version 4 is an ITY knit. I believe in both versions I shortened the length by 1" this time and on version 4, I made the hem 1.25" instead of a 2". Version 3 was a oopsie.  I thought I had enough of the mustard yellow and did not realize until after I was trying to cut the front of the dress.  I remembered I purchased 3 different colorways and found some black.  I had always wanted to try blocking and gave it a whirl on version 3.  I figured I would toss it if I did not like it. Also on version 3 I decided to do a lettuce edge on the sleeves and on the hem with

Project Linus Quilts for January and February

Image
Sometime ago I decided I needed to do some charity sewing and decided to do Project Linus baby quilts. Why baby quilts - because I knew it was something I could actually get done. Why Project Linus - my local sewing machine dealer has a box in their store and it is easy for me to drop it off. I quickly forgot about the commitment I made until this year, so hopefully I am back on track with one quilt a month. Normally I am down to the last day of the month trying to ensure I get my quilt done before the next month hits. Looks like the March one will be done at the 99th hour also🀣. January's Quilt February's Quilt I am really trying to use up ridiculously large scrap bin. These quilts were made from my fabric scraps and all are cotton fabrics. I had some extra batik strips and used them for February's quilt.  That was the quickest and easiest quilt I have made.  I believe I used 8.5" squares and rotated some of the blocks vertically and some horizontally.
