About a month ago about 12 of us went on a sewcation to Missouri Quilt Star Company  in Hamilton, MO.  In years past we have taken some really nice sewcations. I have been involved with teaching about 3 ladies to sew this year and I really wanted them to see other fabric stores besides the local Joann's.  About a month or before we actually went I started planning.  I knew it would have to be a day trip, someplace we could drive to, and something that would not take a lot of money because of the short notice.  I knew Missouri Quilt Star would fit the bill. We left about 8 am and returned about 3pm.  Any place that has fabric - I love and this place was no exception.  I had been there before but it was a first time for the others.  This would be the perfect place to insert a group photo in Hamilton but I don't have one.  We did take a group photo but I never received it. I attended the Sew4Home Sewing Escape this weekend.  Sew4Home is one of my favorite sites to get projects so when I found out they would start doing the sewing escapes I was hoping they would come to KC.  Yay - they did this weekend. From what I read on their site I knew the projects were geared for new sewers or sewers with little experience but they did allow for experience sewers also.  In any case I knew I would go once I found out they were coming to KC.  Since I go to their site at least once a week, love their projects, and love their instructions I wanted to support to them. The Setup The best part about this sewing weekend was you only had to bring yourself.  They provided everything including the sewing machines.  The sewing machines provided were the Janome   horizon memory craft 9400 , horizon memory craft 8900 qcp se , horizon memory craft 8200 qcp , skyline S7 , and the memory craft 500E  embroidery only machine.  Everyone had a sewing machine to themselves an

A few weeks ago I did my measurements, made pattern modifications based on those measurements, and cut and sewed a muslin (I almost cut out of my fashion fabric).  When I tried on the dress somehow it was about 3 inches too small in width. I still don't know how that happen all I know is that I was soooooo disappointed and frustrated.  Fast forward to today - my table runner.  My idea was to get a sewing confidence booster by creating something simple and afterwards tackle the previous pattern again. No sewing booster only more frustration and aggravation.  It really is a simple project but only I could take something so simple and turn it into a monster. How I Did It I got this project from the sew4home website and its called the  Triangle Color Block Table Runner .  I chose this project because I had a charm pack that I wanted to use and because of its simplicity. I used a charm pack call New Aged Muslin from Marcus Fabrics.  I decided to use my Best Press to stiffen t
