Project Linus Quilts for January and February

Sometime ago I decided I needed to do some charity sewing and decided to do Project Linus baby quilts. Why baby quilts - because I knew it was something I could actually get done. Why Project Linus - my local sewing machine dealer has a box in their store and it is easy for me to drop it off.

I quickly forgot about the commitment I made until this year, so hopefully I am back on track with one quilt a month. Normally I am down to the last day of the month trying to ensure I get my quilt done before the next month hits. Looks like the March one will be done at the 99th hour also🀣.

January's Quilt

February's Quilt

I am really trying to use up ridiculously large scrap bin. These quilts were made from my fabric scraps and all are cotton fabrics.

I had some extra batik strips and used them for February's quilt.  That was the quickest and easiest quilt I have made.  I believe I used 8.5" squares and rotated some of the blocks vertically and some horizontally.

Precision and neatness was not factored in - I was just trying to get them done before the end of the month 😊.

This isn't my normal post.  I am behind on posting and projects so just trying to get this one posted.

Below are additional photos.
