StyleArt Barb's Stretch Pant - Take Two and Three

Image
This is take two and three for StyleArc's Barb's Stretch Pant pattern.  Since my adjustments were already made with the first pair - it took about 2 hours to make a pair. StyleArc Barb Stretch Pant Since I have already reviewed this pattern here , I will only make note of differences and additional information not included with the first review. How I Did It In the first review I did not show how I connected the elastic.  I accidentally deleted the beginning picture that shows the two cut ends of the elastic butted against one another on top of a scrap of fabric.  I did a zig zag stitch in the middle of the butted ends to attached them to each other. What a difference fabric makes - both pair came from fabric in my stash (yay) .  The beige pair was a thin stretch chino but what I did not realized was it did not have enough stretch and it took me about 3 hours trying to get the waistband attached properly (attaching and removing multiple times)....

Hipalicious StyleArc Barb's Stretch Pant

StyleArc recently released the Sydney Designer Dress pattern and I went to their site after receiving an email.  While I was reviewing the pattern and trying to decide if (when) I would purchase it, I noticed somewhere on the site that if you gave them your email you got a free pants pattern. Style Arc's Barb's Stretch Pant Since I had never sewn a StyleArc pattern I thought this would be a great try before you buy opportunity.  The biggest deciding factor was the pattern came in the "big girl" size. How I Did It I used a stretch chino fabric from my stash (yay) that I bought at my local fabric store.  About midnight Thursday morning I decided was a good time to start this pattern since all the reviewers said it was so easy.  Did I mentioned mind I had to go to work? Even me - the slowest sewer in the world - whip these pants out in a couple hours (after you subtract the time for stupid mistakes). No pant pattern will ever fit my shape without any ad...

Frankie Baseball T-Shirt & Bibi Skirt - Tilly And The Buttons Stretch Book

Image
I started this post February 11, 2019 and am just posting it.  Why?  I hated the fact that the strips on the top don't align at the sides.  Initially I was going to make the strips vertical on the top so I wouldn't have to worry about matching them, but I changed my mind. Frankie Baseball T-Shirt & Bibi Skirt I have had this scuba knit in my stash for some time (years) and had not quite figured out what to do with it.  When I bought it I was attracted by the color but did not realize it had a strip pattern in the design.  I had about 4 yds of the the scuba knit and about 1 yd of the ponte knit. Since I made both before I will just post the pictures.
