Sandhill by Noodlehead

I took extra days off with the Memorial day holiday to have a sewing immersion session. Each time I do this, more often than not I end up sewing absolutely nothing. Each time I tell myself this time it will be different, but it's not. All I want to do is rest and movie binge. I literally had to force myself to sew.  Noodlehead Sandhill Even though I have several garments cut out and ready to sew - I didn't want to sew anything. I have had the Sandhill pattern and hardware to make it for at least seven years, so I forced myself to sew it. It took a couple of days to sew because I was half sleep.  This canvas fabric came from Hobby Lobby and I purchased it specifically for this pattern. What's funny is there was another fabric I saw and loved but I knew I had previously purchased. WRONG - I had purchased the same fabric I bought to make this sling 😂. I chose to use the same fabric to make the strap and 3 zipper pulls.  For the zipper ties, I cut 1" by 11" st...

Cashmerette Ames Jeans #2

This is my second time making this pattern. On the first pair I forgot to raise the rise, but this time I did all my necessary adjustments and am please with the fit. Ames Jeans I won't do my normal post because I have already done that here . I am being intentional about trying to use up the fabric in my stash and this fabric is a stretch corduroy that has been in my stash for at least 10 years.  I didn't even remember I had it until I started moving my stash around trying to make more room 😀. Below are the changes I made. I chose the pear pelvis Removed a total of 2 1/2" from the inner curve of the yoke Removed 3" from the inner curve of the waistband I raised the back rise 1" Remove 2" from the length  Finished Pictures (I had to take a lot trying to hid my saddle bags 😂)

Love Notions Vivace Dolman #3

This is make #3.  I was not satisfied with my previous top because I did a full bust adjustment and the top was way too big and just didn't fit right.  I wanted to move on to my many, many other unsewn patterns, but I couldn't until I got this one right.  I can move on now 😂. Vivace Dolman I won't do my normal post because I have already done that here .  Below are the changes I made to get a fit I was comfortable with. Eliminated the full bust adjustment Blended between a 2X and 3X Shortened the length above the waistline 1" Removed 1" from the armpit down to the hemline Used a 1 1/4" hem allowance rather than a 2" hem Finished Photos

Love Notions Vivace Dolman

I couldn't  continue to sew the LDT forever 😂 - I had to move on to another pattern.  Whenever I try a free pattern from a company and I like it, I like to purchase at least one pattern to support the pattern designer.  It didn't hurt that on Friday's Love Notions offer a $5 pattern - that is when I bought this one. How I Did It I am continuing to use fabric in my out of control fabric stash 😁.  One great thing about this pattern is you can use a knit or woven.  It has different pattern pieces for the knit and the woven Fabric Top A rayon batik that I bought from Stylemaker Fabrics August 2020.  They don't have this particular fabric but the do have plenty of rayon batiks  here . Dress A knit from my local Joann's that has been in my stash for maybe 5 years or more.  Pattern Adjustments Top (woven pattern) I blended between a 2X and 3X So why did I do a FBA for the top?  I never need this adjustment.  Based on the pattern instructions,...
