Pearl Cardigan

When I saw this pattern I absolutely loved it, but I knew I would be taking a huge risk with it falling at the 2nd widest part of my body.  I thought if it were just a little longer it would be perfect on me.  I knew that and yet I did not lengthen it.

How I Did It

Such an easy pattern and it takes me to make it hard and mess it up.  The first one I had to trash because the parts would not fit - yep it was that bad.  The second time I was successful.

  • Fabric

    • Brushed jersey animal print that I found in JoAnn's.  I absolutely love an animal print.

  • Pattern Adjustments

    • I can't find the pattern envelope, but based on my measurements I am sure I cut a 9 at the neck and graded out to a 10 from the bottom of the armhole to the waistline.

  • Some Construction Pictures (the red light is my laser level that I now use instead of a yard stick to ensure I lay my patterns on grain).

  • Some Finished Pictures

Conclusion

If this top was lengthened about 2" I believe it would be perfect for me but as it is I am still not sure if I will give it away.  I love this top, but I am just not sure I love it on me.  I want to make a sleeveless top to wear under it to see it that will satisfy me.

Not sure it I will make it again, but if I do I will definitely lengthen it.

What's Next

StyleArc's Stacie Jean Jacket.  Every time I think I am done with this pattern I find another reason to make another.  I have already made this jacket 4 or 5 times now.  There was an embroidery design that I thought would look fabulous on the back of it 😀.
