StyleArc's Lennox Woven Skirt Version 2 and 3

Love the style of this skirt and it is a pretty easy sew, although I am not crazy about the colors I chose for them.  Since I already did a review here - I will forgo a lot  details an show pictures.  I doubt if I wear these skirts again before fall or I may give them away.

Lennox Woven Skirt

Fabric

I bought twill from JoAnn Fabric in the winter time and am just now getting around to using these fabrics.  I have to admit I like my other version better because it so much brighter.  If I make this skirt again, I will use a lighter weight fabric.

The fabric for the top is a cotton with a bit of stretch.  I specifically bought this fabric to test stripe matching for the first time.  I bought extra fabric so I could match stripes but I couldn't stand the thought of wasting so much fabric, so I turned my sleeves upside down when cutting them out.

Now you see the result - no matching strips.  I matched the stripes on the sides though.  Initially I thought of trashing the top but decided to keep it instead so when I try it the next time I can compare.

One thing I learned is that I don't like the look of horizontal strips on me.

Adjustments

On the grey skirt I remove about an inch from the waist and I tried it own before doing the topstitching and it fit fine, but now it turns all around on me so not sure what happened.

One issue that I did find with versions 2 and 3 is there is something going on with the waistband facing - when topstitching I had to "make it fit.  On version 1 I messed up the way the facing was done (facing was longer) and it was fine when I topstitched.

  1. I really like the grey skirt as it is neutral & would go with your colorful tops.
